Dana White recently said former UFC champion Anderson Silva “won’t talk to me to this day” after he said “it’s over” for him at age 40, and it seems that “The Spider” didn’t enjoy those comments. White told Rolling Stones in a recent interview that the Brazilian did not like the way his final moments in the promotion were handled, discussing Silva’s departure from the UFC following a loss to Uriah Hall, which was his third loss in a row and seventh loss overall in nine fights, and Silva reacted to it in the comments of an Instagram post. ”The bald guy saying (sh*t),” Silva wrote in Portuguese. “I’ve been out of the organization for many years already, but apparently neither the current fighters nor the bald guy himself can forget my accomplishments. “Deep down, the bald guy knows that with me there was no whining, everybody got beat up, and I saved the promotion more than once. And just so we’re clear, it seems like the bald guy doesn’t know how to count.” The jab about counting likely stems from White saying that Silva “lost like 8 or 9 or 10 in a row” prior to his release from the promotion. Silva hasn’t fought under MMA rules since parting ways with the UFC in 2020, ending his career with three consecutive losses to Hall, Jared Cannonier and Israel Adesanya. “The Spider” transitioned to boxing after that, dominating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Tito Ortiz and Tyron Woodley with a loss to Jake Paul in between. In his prime, Silva reigned as one of the most dominant UFC champions all-time with 16 wins in a row in the promotion and historic title defenses against Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen and Vitor Belfort. On top of that, “The Spider” moved up in weight to go 3-1 at light heavyweight with three first-round knockouts, including an epic beatdown over former champion Forrest Griffin.
